A Trip to the Allergy Doctor

Cameron Sneezing

Cameron, who we had a hunch was allergic to grass and pollen, went to see the allergy doctor today, since his daily dose of Zyrtec wasn't helping with excema or allergies much anymore. After 64 tiny pin pricks on his back the doctor confirmed that he is allergic to ALL trees, grass, pollen of any kind including weeds, dust, pets and the list goes on. I could see his confidence in the nurse begin to wain as she continued to prick his sensitive back with various toxins. He wriggled around for 20 minutes itching like a dog with fleas, but wasn't allowed to scratch at all. His back looked like he'd been stung by a swarm of wasps when we were done. Poor guy.
Then off to the lab to get some blood drawn. He took it like a champ as they filled ten vials with his "cool" dark red blood. The nurse told him he was the gas station filling up all the tanks with his blood. We were almost finished when Sarah began to wimper and when I looked down at her she was white as a ghost. Her head was sweaty and clammy and she was weak wanting me to hold her. She did this last month at my doctor check up when I got my blood taken and got a shot, except she fainted! I though it was an isolated incident thinking she may have tripped but she fell flat on her face and she acted scared and really disoriented. Kind of funny to see her have a "Darren" reaction not having any clue as to why she felt the way she did. No more needles for Sarah! Thanks for passing on the wimp gene, Darren!!!

Half of Erin's face

For whatever it is worth, here is a picture of our baby. Well, half a picture. I got several others but in the pictures the face really looked weird and the nose looked HUGE with enormous lips! Hope they aren't too accurate. Can't see how it would be because she was moving her hand in front of her face the whole time. 7 weeks and counting to see her whole face and cute toes too!!

Late Easter Pictures

So Easter has come and gone...so what, this is what they were wearing so it's all the same. It is as if I said, "Sarah, smile really hard!"

Deep Thoughts by Sarah Ashton

"I wonder just how deep and cold that water really is. Would this life jacket keep me from drowning? This strap up my rear end really bugs me and Mom is dumb for making me wear it...Cameron didn't have to buckle his crotch strap. Lunch was good though and I got my own KitKat to myself. Are there sharks out here? Maybe just little mermaids...hey mom, can I have another root beer??? "

Lauren's Baptism

We had a wonderful day Saturday! Lauren was so excited and it was so special to see her Dad be so proud to baptize her. We were happy to have Nana and Papa come from Texas and also my brother Stephen and his wife and kids too. Thanks for all helping to make the day a memorable one. She got new scriptures and a special book from Nana. Papa patiently helped her learn how to care for her scriptures and spent time explaining the index tabs and how to use them. It was so fun to see her pure joy at being able to read them for herself and what a sweet moment for a parent to behold! Here is our cute nephew and cousin Rafe. I'm sad I didn't get a picture of the other kids and their family:(Ashton Family

Definitely a Girl!

I met my new doctor last week. We got caught up to date on doing the necessary tests and shots (rhogam). She did an exam and ultrasound and all was going great until I told her we still weren't for sure on the sex of the baby. She looked and could tell absolutely that it was a girl. I have to admit I was disappointed but as Cameron said in Pre-K, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" So, to work through some of my grief I listed my boy crib beddding on Ebay and that is helping. We are ready and excited for her to come to our family. Darren has a plan to get her here in time for Bear Lake but it may not be suitable for posting so talk to him if you want details....I'll just keep working out and hopfully that will help move it along.

First Day on the Lake

Yes...this is definitely going to be a fun family tradition. We'll have to sell our unborn baby to afford it all but it will be worth it!

It was only 68 degrees and the water was freezing. The kids were convinced they were NOT going to be cold and were planning on swimming with goggles etc. That is until they felt the water - Ha! Ha! Mom was right again! I can't imagine if it was sunny and hot and we were pulling the kids on the tube or knee board...this will be an absolute blast! Can't wait to have friends and family join us.

This was Sequoyah Bay State Park about 30 minutes from our house. Next, we are trying out Lake Skiiatook. Darren was definitely in his element cruising around the lake scaring the pants off the kids!

I had my first lesson in driving since Darren couldn't back the boat into the lake and drive it off the trailer like I wanted him to. It wasn't that bad though. I think I could get the hang of it.
